2011 is the 75th Anniversary of the Sonoma County Fair!. This is our Diamond Jubilee - a celebration of the past, present and future of the Fair. This year’s Fair, from July 27 to August 14, will be 17 days of fun (Closed Mondays), with wine country racing, headline entertainment, spectacular carnival rides, junior and professional livestock shows and so much more. The Hall of Flowers will be a tribute to the 'best of the best' Flower Shows from past years. Free entertainment will include an old-style vaudeville show, turkey races and lots more.

This summer’s Sonoma County Fair Diamond Jubilee Fair will be a time to look back at the past 75 years. Fair staff is looking for old photographs, memorabilia, and especially, memories of past fairs. Part of the Diamond Jubilee celebration will be an all-new Fair museum display. If you have anything you would like to donate or loan, please get contact the Fair office as soon as possible. You can stop by the fairgrounds to drop off donations or have your photos scanned. Older trophies and ribbons (earlier than 1985) and any other memorabilia are particularly welcome. If you'd like to email your photos, send them to specialevents@sonomacountyfair.com.

Fair Museum Coordinator Katherine Rinehart has been digging through the files, and has some specific requests: Fair programs, buttons, posters, old ticket stubs, home movies and items associated with the FFA Sweetheart contest (crowns, sashes, photos, etc.) We are trying to assemble a complete set of Premium Books (Exhibitor Guidebooks), and five years are missing: 1952, 1976, 1978, 1979 and 1982.
